The Indian team management has released travelling reserves Yash Dayal, Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini as they will play for their respective state teams in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 which will commence on December 21.
As per a report by TOI, Dayal has already returned home. The left-arm pacer was replaced Khaleel Ahmed in travelling reserves. He did not feature in any of the India A games either. The 27-year-old will play for Uttar Pradesh in Vijay Hazare Trophy. Uttar Pradesh will go up against Jammu and Kashmir on December 21.
Mukesh has been named in Bengal's squad. He will bowl alongside Mohammed Shami. The experienced Indian pacer is yet to board the flight to Australia due to fitness issues. Mukesh was impressive in the two games against Australia A. He took 11 wickets including six-wicket haul in the first game. He bowled well in the intra-squad game as well.
Saini wasn't impressive in the only match he played for India A. The 32-year-old remained wicketless in Mackay. He will represent Delhi in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. Delhi and Bengal will lock horns on the opening day of the tournament.
India are currently playing Australia in the third Test at The Gabba, Brisbane. Their next Test will start on December 26 at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

India have five pacers in their ranks excluding batting all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy. Prasidh Krishna is yet to get a game in the Test series despite 10 wickets from two games for India A. He took one wicket in the pink-ball warm-up game against Prime Minister's XI as well.
One batter released earlier this month
Earlier, Devdutt Padikkal was released from India's Test squad. Padikkal was named in the squad as a cover for Gill who missed the first Test due to thumb injury. Padikkal batted at no.3 in Perth Test. He got out for a duck in the first innings and then scored 25 runs. The left-handed batter will play for Karnataka against Mumbai in their first game of the season.
