Australia star batter Travis Head opens up on his 140-run knock against India in the second Test match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Adelaide. The Australia star broke his own record to smash the fastest century in pink ball day/night Test.

Head's knock helped Australia to beat India by 10 wickets to level the series 1-1. This was the shortest-ever Test between India and Australia in terms of balls bowled. The Australia star was awarded 'Player of the Match' for his iconic knock against India in Adelaide Oval.

"Nice to get some runs again. Moved well last week, I felt like I am in good form. Good dressing to be in. Nothing's ever guaranteed, nice momentum and now we have to move on with it. I felt like there was a good opportunity against the second new ball. Nice that it came off. (Century celebration) Did it for Miller as well, nice to have them here and it's been a nice week" said Travis Head in post-match conference.

After taking a lead in the first innings, Australia dismissed India for 175 runs in their second innings before chasing the target of 19 runs to win the second Test. India started their Day 3 at 128 for 5 and the Men in Blue lost their remaining wickets for 47 runs in 12.5 overs. Nitish Kumar Reddy was India's highest run-getter scoring 47 off 42.

The ongoing Test series is important for India to seal their spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) final which is scheduled to take place in England next year. India needs to win the remaining three matches to confirm their berth for the WTC final for the third consecutive time without depending on other teams' outcomes.
