India captain Shubman Gill has been in scintillating form so far in the series against England. Though he was only able to put up a total of 26 runs in the two innings combined in the third Test, his batting performances in the first two matches were simply incredible. He played a fine knock of 147 in the first Test at Headingley before following that up with scores of 269 and 161 in the first and second innings respectively in the second match held at Edgbaston.

With a total of 607 runs under his belt in six innings so far against England, Gill is the current top-scorer of the series by a big margin. The batter has proved all his doubters wrong with his recent batting displays and has done well as a captain too.

Notably, Gill requires just 25 runs more to become the Asian batter with the most runs in a Test series held in England. He is currently just behind Pakistan's Mohammad Yousuf on the list and will be looking to break the record in the upcoming match at Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old has so far been a nightmare for the England bowling attack. The India team will be hoping that Gill delivers with the bat in the upcoming Manchester Test as it is a must-win match for the Men in Blue if they want to stand any chance of winning the series.

Gill has broken records left, right and centre in the series so far. He has already become the Indian batter with the most runs scored in a single Test and the only player in history to hit a double-hundred and follow that up with a 150-plus score in a single Test. He is in line to break multiple records in the upcoming games and will be hoping to achieve many more feats as the series progresses.
