India all-rounder Washington Sundar is confident that the 'solid' batters present in the dressing room will take them through and help them in chasing down the modest target of 193 on Day 5 of Lord's Test. This comes after the Men in Blue lost four wickets during the final session of the fourth day which saw them finish on 58/4, still 135 runs behind the target..
“We want so many things the way we expect it to be, but yes, we'll take it any day. We'll really come out positive tomorrow. We've got some solid batsmen in the dressing room. It's exciting in every way, you know, winning a Test in Lord's is going to be amazing. So, I think we're sitting pretty,” Sundar said in the post-day press-conference.

India had a dismal start to their second innings
After bundling out England for just 193 runs in their second innings, India themselves had quite a rocky start with the bat as Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed by Jofra Archer for a 7-ball duck. KL Rahul and Karun Nair tried to stitch a partnership, but the latter ended up losing his wicket to Brydon Carse for 14 runs. Things soon got worse for the visitors as Carse managed to get the massive wicket of Shubman Gill for just six runs.
India sent out Akash Deep as a night-watchman so that they do not lose any more big wickets, however Ben Stokes rattled the batter's stumps as the fourth day came to an end. The next batter in line for India is Rishabh Pant, who will be hoping to steady the team's sinking ship as the fifth day commences.
Meanwhile, Sundar bowled a sensational spell of 4/22 during England's second innings and played a key role in India bundling out the hosts for only 193 runs. After the conclusion of the day, the 25-year-old reflected on his performance and stated that it was one of the best days for him with the ball.
“Definitely, one of the best days with the ball for me, especially outside of India. But yes, definitely had some solid plans coming into this Test match and really wanted to execute them both in first and second innings," Sundar stated.
“There are different roles thrown at me in different passages of play. I would say that's where Test cricket gets a lot more exciting because you've got to be a slightly different cricketer at least with your mindset on day five compared to on day one,” he added.
Despite losing four early wickets, the Men in Blue are still in a good position to win the match as Rahul, who scored a fine hundred in the previous inning, is currently unbeaten on 33 while the likes of Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar are yet to take the crease. It will be interesting to see which side takes the valuable 2-1 lead in the series heading into the fourth Test.
