Team India will face England in the first T20I of the five-game series on Wednesday, July 1 at the Riverside Ground in Durham. It will be a challenging game for the Men in Blue, as they are coming off a fresh T20I series loss against Ireland. In the series against Ireland, it was expected that India's teenage-sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi would make his international debut, but it did not happen.

It is being expected that Vaibhav can make his maiden appearance in the first T20I against the Three Lions, the claims were fueled with a latest glimpse of the 15-year-old's batting practice in the build-up to the fist game was shared online by the broadcaster. In that video, Vaibhav could be seen hitting aggressive shots with absolute fine touch.

After watching the video, it can be said that Vaibhav is going through sublime touch in the net sessions, it would be interesting to see if he can carry forward the same if given a chance in the playing XI against England. Interestingly, Vaibhav is coming after smashing a record breaking knock of 94 off just 29 balls in the Tri-Nation A series final against Sri Lanka A. For those unaware, While smashing Sri Lanka A bowlers, Vaibhav scored the fastest half-century in just 11 deliveries.

Can Vaibhav make India debut in first T20I vs England?

Ahead of the first T20I against the Three Lions, newly appointed Indian skipper Shreyas Iyer has opened up on the 15-year-old opener, saying he can not let everyone know the team combination before the game, as it will help the opposition while appreciating Sooryavanshi's potential to shine in the international circuit.

"See, you never know what’s going to happen. My hands are also tied at the moment in terms of what we’re going to do, because this is very private. This is something we discuss in the team. We can’t let everyone know what combination we’re going to play and let the opponents know what’s going to happen. So definitely he’s a brilliant prodigy, and whenever he gets an opportunity to play, he’ll do brilliantly," said Iyer on Tuesday.
