The India vs Ireland T20I series was earlier scheduled to start at 7:00 PM IST

Now in order to avoid the clash with Women's T20 World Cup, it will start at 6:00 PM IST

Cricket Ireland announced a scheduling shift for the upcoming two-match T20I series against India, locking in a 1:30 PM local start time, which translates to 6:00 PM IST. While international T20s involving the Indian men's team usually kick off at 7:00 PM IST, organisers deliberately advanced the start time by an hour.

India vs Ireland T20I series timings changed

This change was made to accommodate the highly anticipated India-Australia Women's T20 World Cup clash on Sunday, June 28, which is set to begin at Lord's at 7:00 PM IST.

No overlap with Women's T20 World Cup 2026

Though the revised schedule cannot completely prevent a broadcast overlap between the two high-profile fixtures, the hour-long buffer was designed to minimize the conflict. Cricket Ireland confirmed that the crucial Women's World Cup match was a primary factor when finalizing the itinerary. To make this happen, the hosts coordinated with Indian media partner Sony Sports. Although the broadcaster typically favors the prime 7:00 PM IST slot for maximum viewership, they agreed to the earlier start to mitigate the scheduling clash.

Following the brief two-match stint in Ireland, the Indian team will head to England for a multi-format tour featuring highly variable timings. Out of the five subsequent T20Is, only two, the matches in Manchester on July 4 and Southampton on July 11, will stick to the traditional 7:00 PM IST window. The remaining three fixtures in Chester-le-Street, Nottingham, and Bristol are slated for late-night viewing at 10:00 PM IST. Once the shortest format wraps up, the three-match ODI series will return to a more standard routine, with all games scheduled for 3:30 PM IST.
