IND vs PAK: Jasprit Bumrah bags historic milestone during India vs Afghanistan first T20I

The three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan kicked off on September 13 at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium, with the Men in Blue electing to field first after winning the toss. India made an immediate statement with the ball, as premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah struck in the opening over to hand his side an early breakthrough.

That early strike carried historic weight: it marked Bumrah's 350th wicket in T20 cricket, making him just the third Indian bowler in history to reach the legendary milestone, alongside spin wizard Yuzvendra Chahal and veteran swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Adding a unique tactical backdrop to the fixture, the Delhi venue was designated as Afghanistan's home ground for the match despite being on Indian soil. Speaking before the game, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer addressed the dynamic of playing in an officially designated "away" environment. Iyer also highlighted the team's balance for the series and celebrated the high-profile return of Bumrah to the starting lineup following his extended period on the sidelines due to injury.
