Chennai Super Kings (CSK) frontline pacer Mustafizur Rahman travelled back home ahead of the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 5. The current Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 purple cap holder flew back home to complete Visa-related formalities ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 in June which will be played in the USA and West Indies.

“I just know that he is in Dhaka trying to sort things. But it seems he will miss a few matches for CSK,” a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) source told Sports Tak.

As per a report, if Rahman's US visa process gets delayed after taking the biometrics, he may have to stay longer in the country. In this case, the left-arm pacer may end up missing CSK's clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 8.

Mustafizur in red-hot form

Earlier, The 28-year-old has NOC to play IPL till April 30. He has been in good form of late. Who will get a chance in Mustafizur's absence?

CSK may include either Shardul Thakur or Mukesh Choudhary in the side as his replacement. They will have an option to bring Moeen Ali as an impact player if they bowl first.

Where are CSK on points table?

Ruturaj Gaikwad-led CSK are currently third on the points table with two wins from three games and a net run rate (NRR) slightly inferior to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). They won their first two matches but were beaten by 20 runs by DC in Vizag despite former skipper MS Dhoni's electrifying cameo in the slog overs of the run chase.
