Rishabh Pant gave instructions in Hindi to Tristan Stubbs.

Stubbs picked up a couple of wickets in his only over against Gujarat Titans.

It turned out to be the perfect outing for Delhi Capitals (DC) bowlers at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad as they bundled out Gujarat Titans (GT) for a mere 89.  DC’s part-time off-spinner Tristan Stubbs picked up a couple of crucial wickets in the middle overs as well. During his only over in the innings, DC skipper Rishabh Pant was heard giving him instructions in Hindi. The South African spinner did not seem to understand it as he carried on and walked to his bowling mark. The video of Pant saying ‘Chorna nahi hai isko, pakad ke daalta raho (Don’t let him off the hook, keep bowling to him there)’ has gone viral on social media.

Stubbs was introduced in the ninth over when GT were 43/4. He started with a dot delivery. Abhinav Manohar who was struggling to rotate the strike hit a boundary down the ground on the second ball. On the next ball, he got stumped. The impact player Shahrukh Khan came out to bat. He pushed the first delivery back to the bowler. That’s when Pant had something to say to Stubbs in Hindi. Next ball, he got stumped in a bizarre manner off a wide delivery.

Rashid Khan hit a boundary off the first ball he faced. On the last ball two runs were scored. Stubbs conceded 11 runs from his first over. Stubbs did not get another over as Rashid was in the middle till the first ball of the 18th over. He turned out to be the top run-scorer for GT. The Afghan all-rounder hit two fours and a six in his 24-ball 31. 89 is the lowest total against DC in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history.

“Amazing to get wickets, the boys bowled beautifully out there, the seamers started well upfront, our two spinners, they're world-class. I was just trying to hit the wicket, whatever happens happens, but fortunately it worked,” Stubbs said after GT’ were bowled out with 15 balls left in the innings.

Stubbs also revealed that he has been bowling to DC skipper in the nets and waiting for his turn.

“I've been bowling to Rishabh at the nets whenever he's batting, hoping that I'll get to bowl by fluke,” he added.
