The competition for the Orange Cap in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is heating up as Virat Kohli has once again claimed the top spot, surpassing Ruturaj Gaikwad. In a match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 4, Kohli scored a swift 42 runs off 27 balls, helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secure a win by 4 wickets. As a result, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has been nudged down to the second position.

The young batters, Sai Sudharsan and Riyan Parag, currently hold the third and fourth positions, respectively. However, Sai Sudharsan missed an opportunity to advance in the standings after being dismissed for just 6 runs against RCB on May 4.

KL Rahul, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), is in fifth place in the race for the Orange Cap. He has been the highest run-scorer for LSG this season. Notably, there are no foreign batters currently in contention for the Orange Cap.
