This is PBKS' fourth consecutive defeat in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. However, the Punjab captain has been hit with another bad news after Sam Curran has been fined fifty percent of his match fee for a Level 1 Breach of IPL code of conduct.

“Curran committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.8 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding,” the statement further added.

Sam Curran on PBKS' sixth IPL 2024 loss

Punjab Kings faced their fourth consecutive and sixth loss of the season. Sam Curran addressed it and said that their bowlers performed really well but they were short of 10-15 runs in the chase. He also said that Punjab need to win each and every game from here on.

“I think so (we were 10-15 short). The effort with the ball was incredible, the commitment and fight was amazing, but it was not enough. The Afghanistan spinners are world-class bowlers and Sai Kishore bowled really well, credit to them,” said Curran in the post-match presentation.

“That is the third time we have used that pitch, anything above 160 would have been a par total but we still fought well. Prabhsimran played really well in the powerplay but unfortunately, we lost a cluster of wickets after that. Now we know what to do, we have to win every game,” Curran added.
