Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain and superstar batter, Virat Kohli lost his temper and vented out frustration at the on-field umpires during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 21 (Sunday). The incident transpired during the first ball of the third over during the RCB innings when Harshit Rana bowled a high full toss and Kohli, deceived by the slowness of the delivery, handed a simple return catch to the bowler.
Kohli was surprised that the square leg umpire didn't deem the delivery as no-ball and instantly went for the DRS. The third umpire Michael Gough checked all the angles and the height graphic through 'smart replay' before signing out. Kohli was standing out of the batting crease and upon making contact with the ball, it did seem like the ball was marginally above the waist. The review also revealed that the ball was dipping and had Kohli stayed in his normal stance, then it wouldn't be a no-ball. Hence, RCB batter was given the marching orders.

Kohli was shocked by the decision and fumed with anger. He started to walk back to the pavilion, stopped mid-way, and returned to give the on-field umpires a mouthful.
On his way to the dressing room, Kohli slammed his bat on the turf and slammed his gloves away. The entire occurrence was caught on camera and the video went viral and caught fire on the internet.
Kohli scored 18 runs off 7 balls
Before being dismissed, Kohli looked in ominous touch with the bat during his brief stay at the crease. The stylish right-handed batter scored 18 runs off 7 balls with the help of one four and two sixes. The RCB were chasing a daunting target of 223 runs and Kohli's early wicket was a major blow to their chances of ending the losing streak.
