Mumbai Indians' NRR got a massive boost after win over RCB.

Mumbai Indians (MI) registered a convincing seven-wicket win over Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 11. MI boosted their net run rate (NRR) and moved one place up to seventh position on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 points table.

MI registered a big win at their homeground which helped their NRR. They chased down the target of 197 with 27 balls to spare against an ineffective RCB bowling lineup.

This was Hardik Pandya-led side's second win on the trot. On the other hand, RCB suffered their fifth defeat of the season. Their NRR took a hit as well. They are placed ninth on the points table, just above Rishabh Pant's Delhi Capitals (DC). They will need to treat their upcoming matches as must-win encounters to keep their chances of reaching the playoffs alive.

The first place is occupied by Rajasthan Royals (RR) with four wins from five games followed by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with three wins from four games.

What will happen after LSG vs DC clash?

Changes are expected after the clash between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and DC on April 12. A win will ensure LSG will move to the second position. However, if they win convincingly, the KL Rahul-led side can dethrone RR from the top spot. A loss may lead to them slipping to the fourth position. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have occupied the fourth spot with three wins from five games.

If DC win, they will move to the ninth position. It will be their second win of the season. A win for DC will also mean that RCB slip to the bottom of the points table.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) led by Pat Cummins and Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) have three wins each. However, GT's NRR is inferior to SRH.
