Starc revisited his stint with RCB and spoke about Virat Kohli's traits on and off the field.

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc is looking forward to playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024 for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Starc will be playing in the tournament after 9 years, as he last played in the 2015 season for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

During the IPL mini auction which was held on December 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Starc was bought by KKR for a record price of Rs 24.75 crore. The World Cup winner had prioritised international cricket and spending time with his family during the recent IPL seasons but decided to once again ply his trade in the cash-rich tournament to prepare for the T20 World Cup, scheduled to be staged later in the year.

Starc is excited and is looking forward to playing in front of big Indian crowds throughout in upcoming season of IPL.

The 34-year-old also spoke about Indian superstar Virat Kohli with whom he played during the 2014 and 2015 seasons of the cash-rich tournament for RCB. Starc underlined the fierce competitive spirit of Kohli on the field and his humbleness of the ground.

“I do remember fondly the couple of years that I had at the RCB alongside Virat. He was the captain as well. That was the first time I got to know him properly, particularly off the field. He is such a different person off the field. Such a humble and warm character off the field and then fiercely competitive on it. I remember that the most about him," Starc said in a video shared by Star Sports on X, formerly Twitter.

Starc has played 27 IPL matches and picked 34 wickets so far. KKR would be hoping the speedster delivers for them and gets them the IPL Trophy after 10 long years.
