The buzz around the rift inside the Mumbai Indians camp is only getting bigger and bigger. There are reports stating there are two groups inside the MI camp and this has been the major reason behind their disappointing campaign in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. They were also among the first teams to get out of the IPL 2024 playoffs. Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya might have added another chapter to this story.

 

Rohit leaves as Hardik arrives in the nets

 

As per a report from Dainik Jagran, Rohit Sharma was sitting with Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma after finishing his batting practice but got up and left after Hardik Pandya came to bat in the nets on the eve of KKR vs MI clash in Eden Garden. The report also stated that there was no sign of Hardik Pandya when Rohit was batting in the nets.

Mumbai Indians later went on to lose the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs. KKR became the first team to qualify for the playoffs with this win and now have even ensured their spot in the Qualifier 1 after rain washed out their clash against Gujarat Titans and they had to share a point with GT.

 

Rohit Sharma's chat with Abhishek Nayar sparks controversy

 

After the big clash between KKR and MI, a video of Rohit Sharma chatting with KKR's assistant coach Abhishek Nayar went viral on the internet. After watching the video, it appeared as if Rohit was having a discussion about the shift of power in the Mumbai camp. however, the clip lacked clarity on whether Sharma is referring specifically to the IPL or his overall cricket career. This video created a lot of controversy around Rohit's current situation with his team.

As for now, Mumbai Indians are placed at the number 9 spot with just 8 points and have only one game left which they will play against LSG. The five-time champion will try to finish this tournament with a win.
