Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli opened up for the first time after his franchise lost to Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator clash of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on May 22, Wednesday at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Kohli was teary-eyed after Sanju Samson-led ended RCB's dream for maiden trophy by beating them by four wickets in the last IPL clash. The 35-year-old batter took to his Instagram and thanked the fanbase for all their love and support. Here is what he posted on social media -
"Thank you once again to all the fans of rcb for making us feel loved and appreciated as always" Kohli captioned his social media post.
Kohli is one of the most consistent performers of the tournament and he is currently leading the Orange Cap race. He scored 741 runs in 15 matches with best score of 113* which came against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Kohli on Dinesh Karthik
Earlier, Kohli recalled his conversation with RCB's wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik. He revealed how Karthik helped him during IPL 2022.
“Off the field, I have had some really nice and interesting conversations with Karthik. He is wise man, has great knowledge about a lot of things, not just cricket. I have thoroughly enjoyed my conversations with him. Even in that phase in 2022 when I did not have a great IPL season, I was really struggling for confidence, Karthik sat me down a couple of times and gave me a very honest explanation of how he is seeing things and maybe I am not able to see them myself,” Kohli recalled.
Kohli will now travel to USA along with the first batch of players who will feature in the T20 World Cup which is scheduled to start from June 2. India will play their first match against Ireland on June 5 Men in blue will play the practice match against Bangladesh before the World Cup which will take place on June 1.
