Bowling all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar was roped in by five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) for Rs 30 lakh in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction on February 13.

The junior Tendulkar had two franchises bid for him the second-last round of IPL auction. Apart from the Mumbai-based franchise, Gujarat Titans (GT) placed one bid for Arjun to raise his stocks from the base price of Rs 20 lakh. There was light banter between the two franchises in the auction hall as MI just responded to the bid immediately with Akash Ambani and Zaheer Khan having a laugh.

Arjun is currently a part of Mumbai’s squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2022 which is scheduled to start from February 16.
