In just a couple of days' time, the greatest franchise cricket league in the world will kick off in India. The countdown has begun for the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which is scheduled to start on March 31. The upcoming cash-rich tournament will witness 10 teams battling it out for the coveted silverware. The defending champions Gujarat Titans will lock horns with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023 opener in Ahmedabad. The league matches will be played from March 31 to May 21 as all 10 franchises will play seven away and seven home games.

A total of INR 1,67,00,00,000 was spent on 80 players amongst the ten franchises who went under the hammer in the IPL auction. The IPL auction for the 2023 season was heavily dominated by the all-rounders, who were in massive demand. English all-rounder Sam Curran was the buzz of the town even before his name went under the hammer. He became the most expensive player in the history of IPL 2023 Auctions and broke all the records. The all-rounder announced his return to the Punjab Kings with a topmost bid of INR 18.50 crore.

When it comes to the broadcast for the upcoming IPL 2023, Star Sports bagged the Television rights while Viacom 18 secured the deal to live stream the IPL matches.

Where and how to watch IPL 2023 matches online?

Unlike in previous years, fans aren't required to buy an OTT subscription in order to watch IPL games online. The matches will be streamed in 4K Resolution (Ultra HD) live on Jio Cinema free of cost. The matches will be streamed in a total of 12 languages, including English, Hindi Marathim Telegu, Bhojpuri, and more.
