MS Dhoni is known for he calm and composure in the cricket field. The sight of seeing Dhoni angry, furious and losing his cool during the match is indeed a rare sight. But a rarity came in to existence in the Indian Premier League clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur on Thursday (April 27).
RR skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bat first. The dazzling opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler gave RR a resounding start as they stitched together a robust 86-run partnership before the latter fell prey to Ravindra Jadeja in the ninth over. Buttler returned to pavilion after scoring 27 off 21 balls.
CSK further tighten the grip when Tushar Deshpande gave Samson (17 off 17) his marching order and followed it up with a prized scalp of Yashasvi (77 off 43) in the 14th over to send Royals on backfoot and reeling at 132/3.
But what happened next left everyone surprised when the legendary Dhoni was spotted losing his composure on Matheesha Pathirana. In the 16th over of RR's innings Dhoni missed a chance to dismiss Shimron Hetmyer due to Matheesha's blunder.
Hetmyer failed to make contact with Pathirana's delivery on the third ball of the 16th over. The ball brushed Hetmyer's body and went straight to Dhoni while Hetmyer tried to steal a run in the meantime. Dhoni came running to gather the ball and threw it at the non-striker's end but Matheesha came in the way of Dhoni's throw which denied CSK of Hetmyer's wicket. Dhoni looked livid and furious post the incident and cameras grabbed the rare sight.

However, RR went on to post a big total of 202/5 on the board in the stipulated 20 overs. Deshpande was pick of the bowler for CSK with a spell of 2/42. In reply, CSK ran out of steam and went down to Royals by 32 runs despite Shivam Dube's brilliant 52 off 33. Adam Zampa, who replaced Trent Boult in RR's playing XI, dazzled with his exceptional spell of 3/22.
with this win RR regained top spot in the points table while CSK slipped to third in the standings.
