The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is alive and kicking. A total of 52 matches have been played in IPL 2023 while the franchises involved have provided immense entertainment to their loyal supporters. After more than a month of action in the cash-rich tournament, all the teams are gearing up for the business end of the competition. On May 7 (Sunday), Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad bagged two crucial points after winning their respective matches against Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals respectively.

When it comes to the race for Orange Cap, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill closed the gap on leading run-getter Faf du Plessis after playing contrasting knocks on May 7 (Sunday).

Let's take a look at the leading run-scorers of IPL 2023 so far:

1. Faf du Plessis: The stylish right-handed batter has aggregated 511 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 157.72 and an average of 56.78.

2. Yashasvi Jaiswal: In fine form this season, Jaiswal has aggregated 477 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 160.61 and an average of 43.36.

3. Shubman Gill: The Gujarat Titans' opener has scored 469 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 143.43 and an average of 46.90.

4. Devon Conway: Chennai Super Kings' opening batter has scored 458 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 139.21 and an average of 57.25.

5. Virat Kohli: RCB's maverick batter, Virat Kohli has scored 419 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 135.16 and an average of 46.56.

6. Jos Buttler: Rajasthan Royals' swashbuckling batter has scored 392 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 143.59    and an average of 35.64.

7. Ruturaj Gaikwad: Chennai Super Kings' opening batter has scored 384 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 148.26 and an average of 42.67.
