In a massive boost to the Indian Premier League (IPL), the BCCI have reportedly sold the TV rights for the 2023-27 seasons for a whopping Rs 57.5 crores per match. The final count is Rs 23,575 crore for television rights. The TV rights were a part of package A and reached the highest bid of Rs 57 Crores on day 1 of the closed auction.

This concludes the bidding for the TV rights, which has reportedly been secured by Viacom18, the parent company of the recently launched sports channel Sports18. The digital rights are still in contention from package B, but it is being reported that the winner of package A (most likely Viacom 18) will challenge the winner of package B and take both rights. So it is highly unlikely that we will have two different broadcasters for TV and digital. Reports suggest that Sony are in the mix as well.

The package for A and B have stopped at Rs 43,255 crore.
