Suryakumar Yadav is one batter who has every shot in the book and the ones which are not mentioned. Known for his AB de Villiers-like strokeplay, Suryakumar revealed that he wants to add one more shot to his arsenal. The no.1 T20I batter during a conversation on Mumbai Indians (MI) channel with 'Baby AB' aka Dewald Brevis asked the teenager how to hit a no-look six.

"I am just trying to copy you (Brevis) sometimes. The way you bat. You have to teach me one thing, how do you that no-look shot, no-look six? I just want to learn that from you," Surya said in an virtual interaction with his MI teammate.

“I would love to. It would be an honour, but I would love to learn lots of shots from you as well. I want to tell you a funny story of this. My no-look just happens. It’s weird. I don’t know. It just happens. I always felt that if I keep my head down it helps. And then it just happens,” Brevis replied.

The South African batter who will play for MI Cape Town in the inaugural edition of SA20 league in South Africa was lauded by Suryakumar for his record-breaking 57-ball 162 in a CSA T20 Challenge game.

“I saw on MI’s page that you got a 55-ball 160+ [57-ball 162]. What did you eat on that day?” Surya asked.

“I had my normal omelette in the morning,” Dewald laughed while replying.

“I just had another normal day. It just happened. I didn’t even realize what I was doing in that moment. I think everything just happened while in that moment. I played every ball at its own time. Ball by ball I tried that. And then at the end, I told one guy ‘I’m going to try to hit and hit every ball for six now’, and he said ‘looks like you have been doing that in this whole innings’.”

The young Proteas batter was also in awe of Suryakumar's big-hitting display in T20 World Cup 2022 hosted by Australia.

“What you have achieved in the World Cup, being able to just bat like that throughout the tournament. It’s not just in one match with the strike-rate up there, average up there, runs up there and everything. Congratulations on being the no.1 T20 batsman. That’s just insane. If anything, I must learn and I want to learn from you,” Brevis added.

In his debut Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Brevis scored 161 runs from seven innings at an average of 23 with a strike rate of 142.48. He was picked for Rs 3 crore in IPL mega auction and was retained by the franchise for the 16th edition.
