Story Highlights:

Arshdeep Singh has found of late, bowling the hard length.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has struggled against hard length early on in the innings at times.

Former India Test no.3 specialist Cheteshwar Pujara has provided Punjab Kings (PBKS) left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh with a blueprint to how to bowl with the new against a rampaging Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Ahead of their clash on April 28 at PBKS' home, Pujara wants Arshdeep to bowl from over the stumps to the 15-year-old, hitting the hard length like Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Mohsin Khan. Also, he expects him to use his slower one to dismiss the young southpaw.

“Arshdeep, I think he, being a left-arm seamer, will come over the stumps for Vaibhav. He will have to ensure that he bowls that middle and off stump plan, where the ball is going away from him. We have seen that when Moshin was bowling against Vaibhav, he got that success against him. Arshdeep will have to do a similar thing,” said Pujara on Star Sports’ ‘Game Plan’.

“Try and bowl back of length on middle and off stump line. Try to keep hitting that channel more often and also try to utilize his slower deliveries because Arshdeep has very good slower deliveries,” he added.

Arshdeep finds form with new ball after wicketless run

In the high-scoring game against Delhi Capitals (DC), Arshdeep created chances with the new ball. He dismissed Pathum Nissanka with the short ball. He created a chance against KL Rahul as well but Shashank Singh dropped the catch at deep square leg. The left-arm pacer conceded 49 runs from his quota of four overs.

His best in the ongoing season came against Mumbai Indians (MI) where he dismissed Ryan Rickelton, Suryakumar Yadav and Sherfane Rutherford. After three wicketless games, he started taking wickets. So far, he has seven scalps from as many games at an average of 37.28. His economy rate is just over 10 runs per over.
