Hardik Pandya discloses his phone wallpaper featuring three MI legends
Hardik also shared a nostalgic detail about his mobile phone's wallpaper which was studded with three MI icons.
Interestingly, before joining Mumbai-franchise, Hardik's phone wallpaper featured legendary players such as Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, and Lasith Malinga. Despite Rohit Sharma's significant contribution to the MI franchise, his photo wasn't on that wallpaper. Now leading the same franchise, Hardik conveyed his pride in being part of a team that has consistently set high benchmarks in the league over the years.
“Getting picked by the Mumbai Indians was even more special because Mumbai was always my favorite team. I had a wallpaper on my phone of Sachin sir, Harbhajan (Singh), and I think Malli's (Lasith Malinga) face was there. So, I have always been a Mumbai fan, and obviously getting the opportunity to come and play for this franchise was even more special. And obviously my journey started from there,” Pandya was heard saying in a video posted by Star Sports on X.
However, Pandya's stint as captain hasn't yielded the desired results thus far, with Mumbai Indians notching only one win in their initial four matches of the ongoing IPL 2025. Paltans next match is scheduled for April 7 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Talking about Rohit Sharma, after missing MI's last match against Lucknow Super Giants, he participated in the team's net practice session on Sunday, April 6, hinting at his participation in the crucial match against RCB. He had been sidelined for the previous game against LSG after sustaining a knee injury prior to the match.
Meanwhile, MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene on being asked about Rohit's availability for the match, said:
