LSG beat CSK

Pant’s LSG restricted CSK to 187/5. Akash Maharaj Singh got his first game of the season and he dismissed the top-order batters Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson and Urvil Patel. Akash and Mayank Yadav conceded 26 runs each in their quota of four overs. Mohammed Shami and Shahbaz Ahmed claimed one wicket each whereas an in-form Prince Yadav remained wicketless.

In the run chase, Mitchell Marsh went berserk. In the fifth over, the Australian T20I captain smashed Anshul Kamboj for four consecutive sixes and a four. He reached his fifty from just 21 balls. LSG were 86 for no loss after powerplay overs. Marsh and Josh Inglis shared a 135-run opening partnership from 70 deliveries. In the 12th over, both Inglis and Marsh departed. Marsh missed his century as he was run out for a 38-ball 90. LSG lost wicket of Abdul Samad but Nicholas Pooran hit Kamboj for four consecutive sixes in the 17th over, finishing off the run chase with 20 balls to spare.

This was LSG’s fourth win of the season from 12 games. They have two more games left in the season, one against Rajasthan Royals (RR) away from home followed by Punjab Kings (PBKS) at home.
