Kwena Maphaka is yet to get his first match of the season.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are almost out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoffs race. Their inability to finish games has haunted them this season. Captain Sanju Samson being in and out of the side has been an issue for them as Riyan Parag is yet to evolve as a leader. On the other hand, Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) have been in good form. They are second on the points table with six wins from eigth games. With a few more wins, they will be looking to cement their berth in the playoffs.

RR are yet to find the perfect combination. In the absence of Samson, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has looked promising but hasn't played a long innings. Finishers Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer have not been able to finish run chases. Their pace department looks weak too. Tushar Deshpande is struggling and the captain has not trusted him enough to bowl his full quota of overs in the last few games. There is a possibility that Akash Madhwal replaces him. Also Afghan left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi is yet to take a wicket this season. RR have another overseas option in South Africa's left-arm pacer Kwena Maphaka.

On the other hand, GT registered a comfortable 39-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Gill may not look to make any changes in their home clash. They have a settled batting lineup including a few floaters. Also, Prasidh Krishna is in fine form alongside Mohammed Siraj. Ishant Sharma has contributed as well whereas R Sai Kishore has got crucial breakthroughs in the middle overs. Rashid Khan finding his mojo is a good sign for the Titans as well.
