After facing six successive defeats, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) finally secured a win in the IPL 2026, defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by nine runs at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. LSG's star opener Mitchell Marsh got Player of the Match award for his stunning 111 of 56.
After the game finished, LSG's star overseas batter Nicholas Pooran was seen with RCB all-rounder Krunal Pandya. In a viral video clip, the Caribbean player grabbed the all-rounder's collar. By the first impression, it seems that it was a heated exchange but it turns out that it was friendly banter between two former teammates. The two players shared a dressing room when they played for LSG during the 2023 and 2024 season.

Krunal Pandya silences the storm
Pandya and Pooran, in a joint post on their Instagram handles, clarified that 'all is well' between the former teammates. In the caption, Pandya clarified that there was no bad blood between the two and that it was all love, while also congratulating Pooran on completing 100 IPL appearances. He further added a playful jab by cheekily asking Pooran how the bouncer felt. Pandya wrote:
"No lafda (no trouble), only love ❤️Congrats to my bro @nicholaspooran on completing 100 IPL games. Proud of you brother, many more to come 🤗🔥Btw, how was the bouncer ?"
LSG stays alive in IPL 2026
LSG eventually clinched the thriller by nine runs, with Digvesh Rathi delivering an impressive final over. Defending 20 runs in the last six balls, RCB’s Romario Shepherd could manage only 10, helping LSG snap their miserable six-match losing streak and keep their Indian Premier League 2026 playoff hopes alive.
However, the Lucknow-based franchise still faces a must-win situation in all their remaining matches to stay in contention for a playoff berth.
