India's five players got out on duck in 1st Test against New Zealand.

Rohit Sharma-led India created an unwanted record as they bowled out on just 46 runs in the first innings of the first Test match against New Zealand at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Five Indian batters got out on duck including batting great Virat Kohli, Mumbai star batter Sarfaraz Khan and KL Rahul. India have registered their lowest total in the longest format of the game on their home soil.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan to Indian cricketers Wasim Jaffer, Mohammad Kaif and Sanjay Majreakar took dig on Rohit Sharma-led side for poor outing against BlackCaps.

"Ind batters this morning 🫣 Combination of tough conditions and great bowling by NZ" posted Jaffer.

"Perfect storm for India. Lively pitch, amazingly accurate bowling by NZ to the make most of the conditions & then brilliant catching! 👏👏👏" posted Sanjay Manjrekar.

"Batting first not a good idea when pitch is covered for so long and moisture has settled on it. Maybe, India missed a trick but New Zealand flawless in catching and in maintaining a disciplined line and length" posted Mohammad Kaif.

Look on the bright side Indian fans .. at least you have got past 36 .

The New Zealand pace trio of Tim Southee, Matt Henry, and William O'Rourke made the most of the conditions, each taking a wicket and leaving India reeling at 10/3.

This marked just the third time since 1990 that India had lost three wickets for 10 runs or fewer on home soil in a Test match.

Notably, in all three instances, it was New Zealand that rattled India’s top order. Previously, the Kiwis dismissed three Indian batters for just 7 runs in Mohali in 1999, and in 2010, India found themselves at 2 runs with three wickets down.
