Haris Rauf injured his bowling shoulder while completing a catch in a PSL match on February 24.

The incident occurred in the tense final moments of the match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings.

In a significant blow to the Lahore Qalandars and potentially to the Pakistan national team, fast bowler Haris Rauf sustained a concerning shoulder injury during a critical Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 clash against the Karachi Kings on Saturday, at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium. The incident occurred in the tense final moments of the match when Rauf, in a display of athletic prowess, executed a spectacular catch at long-off to dismiss Hasan Ali. However, the triumph was short-lived as Rauf landed awkwardly, leading to immediate distress to his shoulder.

The gravity of the situation was underscored by Rauf's departure from the field, his right shoulder bound in an elastic bandage, casting a pall over the stadium.

Update on Haris Rauf's injury

The seriousness of the injury prompted immediate medical scans, the results of which are anxiously awaited by fans and officials alike.

Lahore Qalandars' captain, Shaheen Shah Afridi, provided an update post-match, leaving the cricket community holding its breath for positive news.

"Haris Rauf is injured, he bowled really well today, and I hope he recovers soon. I don't know the extent of his injury, but we're praying for him," Shaheen said.

Good spell of bowling from Haris Rauf

Rauf's performance prior to the injury was commendable; he delivered a crucial spell, ending with figures of 4-0-22-1. His key dismissal of Shoaib Malik, who was on the verge of steering the game away from the Qalandars, highlighted his importance to the team. Unfortunately, Rauf's valiant efforts were not enough to secure a win for Lahore, as they suffered a narrow two-wicket defeat, leaving them languishing at the bottom of the PSL 2024 points table without a single win.

The timing of Rauf's injury could not be worse, as the Qalandars face a quick turnaround for their next match against Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday, February 25. The uncertainty surrounding his fitness adds to the team's challenges, with hopes that he can recover in time not just for the PSL, but also for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.
