Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released star pacer Hasan Ali from their T20 squad ahead of the 1st T20I against England and the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024. He has been allowed to resume his stint with Warwickshire in county cricket. He earlier joined the team as an injury replacement for Haris Rauf. However, the first ENG vs PAK T20I ended without a single ball being bowled as rain caused a washout and forced to call off the match in Headingley, Leeds. Now the Three-Lions will take on the Men in Green in the second T20I at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham, on May 24 (Friday).
PCB releases Hasan Ali from the T20 squad
“Fast bowler Hasan Ali has been released from the T20I squad. The team management has decided to let Hasan Ali continue his commitments in county cricket. Initially, Hasan was selected as an injury cover for Haris Rauf,” stated PCB in a media release.
Warwickshire were not expecting a surprise call-up to Hasan Ali from Pakistan's T20I side but now he will return to their squad ahead of their County Championship match against Lancashire at the Old Trafford, on Friday. He is also set to feature in the T20 Blast, which will start next week. He will stay with the club until the end of July. Hasan Ali will now not feature in the T20I series against England and is highly unlikely to be a part of the Men in Green's T20 World Cup 2024 squad.
