Ranji Trophy 2025-26: Vaibhav Suryavanshi's teammate along with Delhi, Goa batters deal in double cents; Patidar, Hooda shine with hundreds

Bihar's Ayush Loharuka played an exceptional knock in his side's Ranji Trophy opener against Arunachal Pradesh and went on to score a remarkable double-century. After bundling out their opponents for just 105 runs on the first day, Bihar went on to post a mammoth total 542 mainly thanks to Ayush's magnificent knock. Though Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed cheaply for 14, his teammate ended up being the star of the show. Ayush's knock of 226 included an outrageous 37 boundaries and a six. Bihar restricted Arunachal Pradesh to 94/3 by the end of Day 2.

Delhi's Sanath Sangwan also went on join the double-hundred club as he too reached the milestone during the second day of his side's clash against Hyderabad. He became the second Delhi batter to do so during the match as earlier in the day, Ayush Doseja had also played a scintillating knock of 209 before being dismissed. Sangwan remained unbeaten on 211 and his inning included 21 boundaries and three maximums as Delhi declared their innings on 529/4.  In reply, Hyderabad finished Day 2 on 77/1 and will be hoping for their batters to deliver the goods on Day 3.

Delhi Capitals star scores big

Finally, Goa's Lalit Yadav also scored a remarkable double-ton in his side's clash against Chandigarh. He also became the second batter of his team to do so as his teammate Abhinav Tejrana had beeen dismissed after playing a fabulous knock of 205. Lalit, who featured for the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025, was eventually sent back to the pavilion for 213 runs but the damage was already done by that time. Goa were bundled out during the second day for 566 and in reply, Chandigarh wrap;ped up things on 34/1. It remains to be seen if they will manage to put up a mammoth total like their opponents or not.

Patidar dominates for Madhya Pradesh

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh captain Rajat Patidar remained unbeaten on 107 in his side's clash against Punjab. Thanks to his fine knock, his team managed to take a 73-run lead by the end of Day 2. Patidar was assisted well by Venkatesh Iyer, who also played a valiant inning of 73 runs as Madhya Pradesh made a solid start to the Ranji Trophy with their batters.

Finally, Rajasthan's Deepak Hooda also cracked a brilliant century in his side's match against Chhattisgrah. After the Rajasthan bowlers managed to bundle out the opposition for 332 runs, Hooda went on to play a fine knock and helped his side in finishing Day 2 on 215/4, still 117 runs behind their opponents. Hooda is currently unbeaten on 101 and will be looking to continue dominating against the opposing bowlers on Day 3.
