After India's nightmarish 0-2 Test series sweep against South Africa, India are gearing up for the three-match ODI series, which is scheduled to start from November 30 at the JSCA stadium in Ranchi.

" It has been a challenging last couple of weeks for everyone. But we have had 2 days to reflect on that. But with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli coming in, we are excited for the next few days," Morkel said at the pre-match press conference.

"We are practicing under lights today and discussion will happen tonight what combination we play -- Nitish Kumar Reddy or Washington Sundar -- in Ranchi," he added.

Team India kickstarted their their preparations for the upcoming ODI series with their first practice session on November 27. The session, held at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, was notably led by senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

The series against the Proteas marks the highly anticipated return of both Rohit and Virat to international cricket. The star duo last played together during the ODI series against Australia down under, where India struggled and were outplayed in the first two matches, ultimately leading to a 1-2 series defeat. However, after the initial struggles, Rohit and Virat demonstrated their class in the final ODI, stitching together a crucial, match-winning partnership that secured a victory for the Men in Blue in the final game of the tour.

The two were subsequently rested during India’s recent two-match Test series against South Africa but have now rejoined the squad. They will be playing under the captaincy of KL Rahul for the upcoming three-match ODI series. Visuals of the first net session on Thursday, showing both Rohit and Virat taking to the nets in Ranchi, were shared by the Jharkhand Cricket Association.
