Team India completed a series victory over Sri Lanka went they beat their rivals by four wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday. However, reports of a health scare emerged after the match, which stated that the health of Team India's head coach Rahul Dravid has suddenly deteriorated.
He was reportedly checked by the doctor of the Bengal Cricket Association (CAB), and was advised to travel back to Bangalore, with the team flying to Trivandrum for the third ODI. However, Sports Tak had reported that Dravid is completely fine and will remain with Team India for the third ODI.
Ahead of the 3rd ODI, batting coach Vikram Rathour provided an update on Dravid's health and availability for the final game of the series.
"He’s absolutely fine boss. I don’t know where that news came from. He’s absolutely fine. You want him to take a few rounds, you want to see that? We can put some fitness test for him also. He’s here (in Thiruvananthapuram with the Indian team)," he told reporters on the eve of the third ODI.
The Men in Blue will cross swords against the Islanders on January 15 (Sunday) in the 3rd ODI.
Rathour also revealed that Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan will have to wait for their chances.
"They are not forced (to sit out), I mean, the others are doing good as well. As players they do understand that, and they need to wait for their opportunity, and they are preparing for that, they train hard and whenever that opportunity comes, they do well and hold on to their places," the Indian batting coach said.
