England Cricket Board (ECB) for the upcoming edition of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to be held in UAE. They have named a 15-member squad under the leadership of Heather Knight. They are hoping to improve their performance from the previous edition and seal their place in the Finals this time around. Last year they suffered an exit from the semis with a loss against South Africa. The highest wicket-taker from the previous edition Sophie Ecclestone is also a member of the team.
“World Cups are always special events to be involved in as a player and I’m really excited by the squad we have selected to take over to the UAE. It’s an honour to lead the team into another World Cup. We’re looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead,” said Heather Knight ahead of the mega tournament.
England are in Group B with Bangladesh, South Africa, Scotland and West Indies. Their team will also be going to Abu Dhabi for a training camp (13-24 September) before the beginning of the official ICC warm-up games. Fast bowler Lauren Filer will also be joining them for the preparation camp in Abu Dhabi.
