A promotional photoshoot for the Rajasthan Royals took an unexpected and tense turn, courtesy to 14-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Though just a teenager, Suryavanshi has already earned a reputation for his fearless hitting in various formats, from first-class cricket to the India U-19 squad and even while representing the Royals in the IPL.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi's lightning shot leaves crew members worrying for their life

On Thursday, August 7, Suryavanshi’s powerful batting during a net session caused a moment of panic among the camera crew. As reported by the Times of India, the left-handed batter, wearing a GoPro on his helmet for a routine shoot, stepped into the nets. Lined up at the non-striker’s end were five camera operators, tasked with capturing close-up footage of the young star. The moment a ball was delivered, Suryavanshi unleashed a thunderous straight drive. The ball shot back with incredible speed, narrowly missing the bowler and rocketing toward the camera crew.

The sudden, missile-like speed of the shot sent the camera operators scrambling. They instinctively ducked and dove for cover, with a couple even falling to the ground in a moment of panic. Fortunately, no one was hit, but the incident highlighted the potential for a serious injury. After the scare, Suryavanshi immediately went to the crew, offering a sincere and heartfelt apology. This moment showcased not only the immense power he possesses with the bat but also his genuine humility.

The wonderkid from Bihar made headlines with a record-breaking performance for the Rajasthan Royals. During a match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur for the 2025 IPL season, he smashed a century in just 35 balls. This was the fastest hundred by an Indian in the history of the IPL and the second-fastest overall.

His explosive form continued on India U-19's tour of England. He kicked off the series with a blistering 48 off 19 balls, followed by a quickfire 45 from 34 in the next game. He then notched a half-century in a mere 20 deliveries, the third-fastest ever for an India U-19 player. His most remarkable feat, however, came in the final Youth ODI at Worcester, where he scored a historic century in just 52 balls—the fastest in Youth ODI history.
