From Gautam Gambhir to KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya, Indian cricket fraternity congratulates Jay Shah for becoming new ICC Chairman

Jay Shah has been elected as the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman. The Indian cricket fraternity congratulated the BCCI secretary.

Jay Shah has been on the receiving end of endless congratulations and wishes as he has been unopposedly elected as the new ICC Chairman. He will be taking over the office as the successor of Greg Barclay who recently resigned from the designation. His tenure would be starting on December 1. The whole Indian cricket fraternity is showing him endless wishes. Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir, former cricketer Dinesh Karthik, and current stars like Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, and Mohammed Siraj all congratulated the BCCI secretary for his new achievement.

"Many congrats @JayShah bhai! I know world cricket will grow tremendously under your exceptional leadership," wrote Gautam Gambhir. Hardik Pandya also penned down a nice message and wrote “Congratulations @JayShah bhai on being elected as the youngest chairman of ICC. Look forward to seeing you take cricket to even greater heights. Your vision and drive will help ICC, just like it did with BCCI.”

 

Siraj posted a picture with Jay Shah and captioned it by writing “A massive moment. My best wishes to @JayShah Sir on being elected as the new ICC chairman. May you grow to greater heights and continue doing fine work for our sport. Congratulations.”. Apart from them Dinesh Karthik, Smriti Mandhana, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Ravi Shastri also congratulated the new ICC Chairman.

Jay Shah on becoming new ICC Chairman

We stand at a critical juncture where it is increasingly important to balance the coexistence of multiple formats, promote the adoption of advanced technologies, and introduce our marquee events to new global markets. Our goal is to make cricket more inclusive and popular than ever before," said Jay Shah on becoming ICC Chairman.

 

"While we will build on the valuable lessons learned, we must also embrace fresh thinking and innovation to elevate the love for cricket worldwide. The inclusion of our sport in the Olympics at LA 2028 represents a significant inflection point for the growth of cricket, and I am confident that it will drive the sport forward in unprecedented ways," he added.
