Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has revealed that Virat Kohli once broke down during India's tour of England in 2018 when the team lost a game despite him being the highest scorer. Kohli is currently in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 where he is struggling with the form as he smashed a century that too in the first Test match in Perth.

Revealing one of Kohli's low moments, Dhawan said how Anushka Sharma once shared an incident with him where the star batter was very dejected after India's defeat to England in a game during the 2018 tour.

“Virat, I mean, everything he’s been through, the times he’s not been in good form, some insights that Anushka shared with me, about his mindset," Dhawan said while speaking on The Ranveer Show.

"I think it was a Nottingham Test, where India had lost and she said she didn’t attend that game that day. She came back, she didn’t know where Virat was and she came to the room and saw him lying down, literally crying. He took the whole thing on himself," Dhawan said.

"How he took the whole thing on himself like I failed when he was still the highest scorer that day. He was the captain of the side," Dhawan said.

Kohli is one of the most successful captains for India, India registered their first-ever Test series wins in Australia and England. India have played 68 matches under his captaincy and won 40 which is the most by any Indian captain.

The ongoing five-Test match series between India and Australia is currently levelled at 1-1 as the third Test match at Gabba ended in a draw. Both India and Australia will look to win this series to confirm their World Test Championship (WTC) final which is scheduled to take place in England next year.
