Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, India effectively restricted Bangladesh to a modest total of 64/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Vaishnavi Sharma delivered a stellar performance with the ball, claiming three wickets for 15 runs in her four overs. Bangladesh captain Sumaiya Akther was their leading scorer, remaining unbeaten on 21 runs.

India chased down the target with remarkable ease, reaching 66/2 in just 7.1 overs.

Opener Gongadi Trisha spearheaded the chase with an unbeaten 40 off 31 balls, including eight boundaries. This decisive victory not only solidified India's position at the top of the Super Six Group but also showcased their strong performance in the tournament.

The Indian bowlers made an immediate impact, dismissing a Bangladesh batter on the third delivery of the match, putting immense pressure on the opposition. This early breakthrough set the tone for the Indian bowlers, who continued to claim wickets at regular intervals. By the halfway point, Bangladesh found themselves reeling at 23-5, facing a significant challenge.

However, Bangladesh's captain, Sumaiya Akter, and Jannatul Maoua displayed commendable resilience, forging a crucial 31-run partnership for the sixth wicket. This partnership threatened to revive Bangladesh's hopes, but Vaishnavi Sharma intervened, claiming two crucial wickets in the 17th over, effectively derailing their fightback. Ultimately, Bangladesh could only manage 64/8 in their 20 overs.

Vaishnavi Sharma dazzles in India's win over Bangladesh

Vaishnavi Sharma emerged as the standout bowler for India, delivering an impressive performance with figures of 3/15. Shabnam, VJ Joshitha, and Trisha Gongadi also made valuable contributions with the ball, restricting Bangladesh to a modest total.

Despite facing a relatively small target, India began their chase confidently, with Trisha Gongadi scoring freely. However, the loss of her opening partner, Kamalini G, in the fourth over, and her own dismissal in the seventh over, while only four runs were needed for victory, created a brief moment of uncertainty.

The Indian captain, Niki Prasad, elegantly concluded the chase with a boundary, sealing the victory for her team. In recognition of her outstanding bowling performance, Vaishnavi Sharma was deservedly named the Player of the Match.
