Rajasthan Royals' batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi yet again turned heads with his explosive hitting during the India Under-19 National Cricket Academy (NCA) camp. The 14-year-old batting sensation has been showcasing his aggressive batting style by smashing the ball to all parts of the ground, demonstrating his immense power in preparation for the India U-19 team's upcoming tour of England.
The India Under-19 cricket team is scheduled to embark on a tour of England, where they will participate in five unofficial one-day matches alongside two four-day games. Vaibhav Suryavanshi is anticipated to take on the crucial role of opening batsman for the team, partnering with captain Ayush Mhatre. Notably, Suryavanshi had previously demonstrated his talent by scoring 176 runs across five innings during the U-19 Asia Cup in 2024, maintaining an impressive average of 44.
In his preparations for the month-long tour of England, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has commenced his training with remarkable practice sessions at the U-19 NCA camp located in Bengaluru. The left-handed batter has displayed excellent form, confidently hitting towering sixes during his sessions. He has shown his ability to attack deliveries pitched over long-on and mid-wicket, while also exhibiting a wide range of shots by hitting over point and stepping out to dominate the bowlers. Even when faced with varied bowling strategies, including slower deliveries, Suryavanshi has maintained his aggressive approach and demonstrated excellent form, suggesting he is ready for the challenges ahead.

Making his IPL debut in the just-concluded season Suryavanshi announced his arrival in the tournament with a six in his very first match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 19. However, it was his performance against Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 28 that truly captured the attention of cricket fans. In a remarkable display of power hitting at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the left-handed Suryavanshi smashed a century off just 35 balls. This incredible innings guided Rajasthan Royals to successfully chase down a target of 210 runs in a mere 15.5 overs. In doing so, Suryavanshi etched his name in the record books by becoming the youngest player to ever score a T20 century. He also set a new benchmark for the fastest century by an Indian player in the history of the IPL. His innings was characterized by an astounding 11 sixes, which equaled the record for the most sixes hit by an Indian batsman in a single IPL match. Continuing his impressive form, Suryavanshi also scored a crucial 57 runs from 33 deliveries in RR's final league match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, which included four boundaries and four sixes in a chase of 188 runs.
Looking ahead, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is now set to represent India in the Under-19 team for their upcoming tour of England. The tour comprises a multi-format series against England U-19, featuring five Youth One-Day matches and two four-day games. The tour is scheduled to commence with a 50-over practice match on June 24, leading into the ODI series which will be played from June 27 to July 7. The one-day matches will be hosted at various grounds including Hove, Northampton, and Worcester. Following the limited-overs leg of the tour, the teams will shift their focus to red-ball cricket with two four-day matches scheduled. The first will take place from July 12 to 15 at Beckenham, and the second from July 20 to 23 at Chelmsford.
Leading the India Under-19 squad on this tour is Ayush Mhatre, who himself made a notable impact during the IPL 2025 season.
