England captain Harry Brook has put his faith in the team’s top seven batters and their ability to leave the opposition clueless. Brook is happy with the team's performance and wants out-of-form Jos Buttler to be left alone. He lauded other batters for stepping up at different stages of the tournament.
“I think Jos should be left alone. He is one of the best players to have ever played the game and I can see him coming good. It’s awesome other lads have been able to step up. There have been performances throughout. We have so many powerful players in the top seven that if one comes off, the opposition are scratching their heads and don’t really know where to go," Brook told Sky Sports ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal against India.

India and England will go up against each other for the third consecutive T20 World Cup semifinal. Brook revealed that his teammates are excited for the challenge. In addition, they were hoping that they meet India in the semifinal.
“We are all really excited. I have already heard a few lads say they wanted to play India anyway. It is going to be a massive occasion with a hell of a lot of pressure for both sides. India obviously have a hell of a lot of support and I’m not sure there are going to be many people behind us. It’s going to be loud. Hopefully, we can play our best cricket," Brook added.
Brook wants England to stay calm
Brook also talked about the need to stay calm when put under pressure in close games. He feels that the team has done well so far when they’ve been under the pump.
“We are managing to scrape along in close games and that is the sign of a good side. I have learned you are never out of games. I know I have players with a lot of character, a willingness to win, wanting to win a lot, but also that calmness under pressure,” Brook said.
Brook finds form at right time but under par numbers vs India
The 27-year-old went through a slump after the half-century against Nepal. But, a promotion in the order to no.3 worked wonders for him. In a tense run chase, he scored a hundred against Pakistan, taking them to the doorstep of victory.
However, Brook does not have the best of records against India. From nine innings, he averages 19 with 171 runs at a strike rate of 140.16. He has one fifty against India in the format.
