Neil Mckenzie backs Aiden Markram to do well as off-spinner against India.

Mckenzie also picked Lungi Ngidi to trouble India's left-handers.

The oppositions have exposed a chink in the armour of India’s power-packed batting lineup in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The orthodox off-spin on tracks that aren’t really batting paradise, Indian batters have struggled against spinners. While South Africa lacks a specialist right-arm off-spinner who can cause problems for the left-handed batters, former Proteas opener Neil Mckenzie has cautioned the co-hosts of their skipper Aiden Markram. Mckenzie also backed pacer Lungi Ngidi to trouble left-handers with his pace variations.

“Markram is more than a useful off-spinner. Also, with the left-handers, you’ve got Lungi Ngidi who can bowl in the up front one or two, and then in the middle and the one at the back end. And his favourite ball is the slow ball into the wicket. So he is basically taking away from the left-handers as well. So they have got a lot of tools that they can use,” Mckenzie told the Indian Express.
