Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and his family are going through a very difficult time. His father, Khachandra Singh, passed away at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida after battling stage 4 liver cancer. Sports Tak understands that Rinku who was in Chennai on Thursday has left for his hometown.

In his final days, his health became very serious. He was put on a ventilator to help him breathe and was also receiving continuous treatment for his kidneys as doctors tried their best to stabilise him. Sadly, his condition worsened quickly despite close medical care.

The heartbreaking news came while Rinku was away with the Indian team for the T20 World Cup. The hard-hitting batter left India's squad before the Zimbabwe clash and rushed back home after learning that his father’s health had suddenly taken a turn for the worse.
Khachandra Singh had been fighting liver cancer for quite some time, but his condition had declined sharply in recent weeks, which led to his hospitalisation in Greater Noida.

Notably, Rinku rejoined the squad before the Zimbabwe clash, but the 28-year-old star was benched as India featured with two changes with Axar Patel and Sanju Samson coming in, in place of Rinku and Washington Sundar.

Rinku has featured for India in five T20 World Cup 2026 matches, where he scored 24 runs in all. He is a vital cog in the team in the role of a finisher, coming in the death overs, and his absence will be a setback for the hosts as it impacts the balance in the team. Rinku is also a good fielder.
