Yuvraj remained unbeaten for 15 runs in the successful run chase.

India Champions defeated Pakistan Champions in the final of the inaugural World Championship of Legends 2024 at Edgbaston, Birmingham on July 13. Yuvraj Singh-led India Champions won by five wickets with five balls to spare against Younis Khan’s side. After the triumph, Yuvraj was asked to pick his all-time XI and he made some interesting picks but snubbed his former captain MS Dhoni who led India to T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup and Champions Trophy triumph.

India’s star players Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma made the cut in the all-time XI picked by the ‘Player of the tournament’ of ODI World Cup 2011. His first pick was the highest run-scorer of ODIs and Tests, Tendulkar. Other batters in the top order were Ricky Ponting, Rohit and Kohli. Yuvraj’s team had South Africa’s power-hitter AB de Villers, followed by Adam Gilchrist as the designated wicketkeeper of the team.

Yuvraj started his bowling lineup with legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne at no. 7. The other spinner in the side was the highest wicket-taker in ODIs and Tests, Muttiah Muralitharan at no.8 spot. Interestingly, he picked former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff in the side. He had a heated exchange with Flintoff in the T20 World Cup 2007 before hitting Stuart Broad for six consecutive sixes in the 12-ball fifty.

In the pace department, he picked Pakistan’s swing king Wasim Akram who is capable of batting down the order as well. The other fast bowler is the side is Australia’s Glenn McGrath.
