Barcelona has confirmed that its influential manager, Xavi Hernandez, 43, will continue to spearhead the team until at least 2025, with an option to extend for an additional year. This follows a three-year contract signed by Xavi in 2021, succeeding Ronald Koeman.

While the team initially showcased a distinct 4-3-3 formation, Xavi later experimented with a 4-4-2 system, employing young talent Gavi in the intriguing role of a 'false winger'.

With a managerial record boasting 61 wins in 96 matches, Xavi’s credentials aren't just rooted in numbers. He secured his maiden title as a coach with the Spanish Super Cup, and more remarkably, drove the team to clinch its 27th La Liga title, ending a four-year championship drought. These feats add to his personal laurels won as a player, where Xavi, in a 17-year-long association with Barcelona, lifted 25 trophies, including eight La Liga and four Champions League titles.

"We arrived at a difficult time, in unfavorable circumstances," Xavi told a press conference ahead of Saturday's game against Celta Vigo.

"Last year, we won two important titles. We're in the process of transition," he added.

One hallmark of Xavi's coaching era has been his trust in youth. The manager has provided first-team opportunities to 12 prodigies from La Masia academy since his tenure began in November 2021. Names like Aleix Garrido, ngel Alarcón, and Ilias Akhomach, among others, have now become familiar to the Camp Nou faithful.
