Liverpool icon, Mohamed Salah, has confirmed that he will leave the Reds after the conclusion of the ongoing season. The Egyptian winger spent nine illustrious years at the English club, and established himself as one of the biggest figures in the history of the side.

Big decision from Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah and Liverpool had reached an agreement to leave the side a year before his contract was supposed to expire.

“Mohamed Salah is to bring the curtain down on his illustrious career with Liverpool Football Club at the end of the 2025-26 season,” Liverpool's statement read.

 

 

Liverpool announced the news with a statement, which said that Salah expressed his wish to make the news public as early as possible to provide clarity regarding his future at the English club.

“The forward has reached an agreement with the Reds that will see him close a remarkable nine-year chapter at Anfield,” the statement read.

 

 

Mohamed Salah's legacy at Liverpool

The Egyptian forward, arrived at Liverpool from AS Roma in the season of 2017, and managed to score 255 goals in 435 appearances and helped the Reds to win two Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup and two League Cups, and FA Community Shield.

Mohamed Salah's struggle in the 2025-26 season

In the ongoing season, Mohamed Salah failed to create his impact which led to Liverpool's poor outings. The Reds forward managed to amass only five goals and six assists in 22 Premier League games. In the UEFA Champions League, the Egyptian scored three goals and two assists.
