Luis Fabiano lambasts Neymar Jr

Recently, former Brazil international, Luis Fabiano, has slammed Neymar, by saying that he failed to adjust his game as per Santos' tactics. He claimed that the Brazilian winger has made it tough for other players to perform well.

In an interaction with ESPN, Fabiano asked Neymar to understand the new tactics and try not to act and play like a 20-year-old. He hinted that because of Neymar Santos had to go through the relegation battle.

"Neymar is the one who messes up the team tactically. I watched a bit of Santos' game. Every time he goes to get the ball from the defender's feet, the midfielders, wingers, and forwards don't know what to do. He goes to get it there, the guys don't know whether to move, stay, or stay close to him, and the play doesn't develop."

He said that Neymar has to understand his age, as he is not the same as before, and needs to find solutions for certain problems that comes with age.

"When a player reaches a certain age, he thinks he's still young, that he's doing things he did at 20. He has to adapt to a new style of play. I think that's what Ney is missing. Staying up front and waiting. One chance doesn't come, two don't come, but he stays there, eventually it will come and he'll be fresh enough to do it."

Neymar's exceptional performance for Santos last season

The former PSG player clocked the time back, as he played a key role in helping Santos avoid relegation. He produced a hattrick in an important game to help them stay at the top division, despite having a knee injury.
