FC Barcelona has added another big name to their long-standing injury list as star player Robert Lewandowski has picked up a thigh injury. Following this, the striker is reported to be out of the club’s important clash against the arch rivals, Real Madrid in the first El Clasico of the season.

According to a report by ESPN, the Pole can be ruled out for five weeks which also includes this month’s fixture against the Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu. Meanwhile, the club, in a statement released stated that the star player "has a muscle tear in the biceps femoris of his left thigh.” The Polish international has only made nine appearances in total this season where he has scored four goals.

Alongside the El Clasico, the forward is also set to be sidelined for the upcoming game against Girona. Additionally, the former Bayern Munich star will not be available for the Champions League games against Olympiakos and Club Brugge among other games. 

Goalkeepers  Marc-André ter Stegen, Joan Garcia and playmaker Dani Olmo are also poised to be ruled out of the game against the La Liga leaders in addition to Gavi and Dani Olmo among the players to miss out the trip to Madrid. 

However, Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez have returned to training this week. As per reports, Rapinha might be ready for the away game against the rivals.
