Harry Kane has expressed interest in leaving Bayern Munich to join Barcelona next season, potentially replacing Robert Lewandowski.

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has said that Gavi is expected to make his return after the September international break. The Spanish midfielder picked up a right knee injury during a training session on Friday, August 22.

Gavi played the first two matches for the Spanish club this season, coming off the bench as a substitute. But he is set to miss Barca's clash against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, August 31.

Additionally, the star midfielder will also miss Spain's World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Türkiye on September 4 and September 7, respectively. Earlier, the Spanish Football Federation selected Gavi in their squad for the qualifiers. However, on Saturday, they confirmed that the 21-year-old won't join La Roja for the qualifiers.

Hansi Flick said that Gavi is expected to return during Barcelona's next LaLiga game against Valencia on Sunday, September 14. The German coach told reporters (via Tribal Football):

"The plan is for Gavi to be available for the Valencia game (on September 14th). We will see how he progresses. He's better today than he was yesterday. We are positive."

 

 

Gavi made 42 appearances for Barca last season after making a return from a year-long injury hiatus. Gavi also produced six goal contributions for the Spanish club, as they completed the domestic treble, winning LaLiga, Copa Del Rey, and the SuperCopa de Espana.

Harry Kane to join Barcelona next summer?

As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, Harry Kane has told Barcelona that he wants to leave Bayern Munich next season. The former Tottenham Hotspur forward wants to face a new challenge and sees Spain as a suitable next destination.

After proving himself in the Premier League and Bundesliga, the English striker wants to join another top European club. Harry Kane is the Premier League's all-time second-highest goal scorer with 213 goals. only behind ALan Shearer (260). Kane has already amassed 91 goals and given 28 assists for Bayern in just 100 games.

Barcelona viewed Harry Kane as an idol replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who also joined La Blaugrana from Bayern Munich in 2022. The Polish striker's contract with LaLiga giants expires next season, but his deal has an option for a one-year extension.
