The loss to Copenhagen dealt a significant blow to Manchester United's hopes of reaching the last-16 in the Champions League. United currently occupies the fourth position in Group A, having secured only three points with two more group-stage games remaining.

Rasmus Hojlund, United's young striker, delivered an impressive performance by scoring twice against his former club, giving United an early advantage. However, the game took a dramatic turn with Marcus Rashford receiving a red card, shifting the momentum in favor of FC Copenhagen.

Rashford was penalized in the 42nd minute for a challenge on Elias Jelert while protecting the ball. FC Copenhagen capitalized on the opportunity, with Mohamed Elynounoussi narrowing the deficit within three minutes.

United faced further adversity when a penalty was awarded to Copenhagen just before halftime due to Harry Maguire's handball. Diogo Goncalves converted the penalty, leveling the scores for his team.

Despite briefly regaining the lead through a VAR-awarded penalty for a handball, calmly converted by Bruno Fernandes, United experienced a late-game collapse, conceding two last-minute goals— one by Lukas Lerager in the 83rd minute and a remarkable finish by 17-year-old substitute Roony Bardghji.

In other matches, 14-time champions Real Madrid secured a 3-0 victory against Braga with goals from Vinicus Junior, Rodrygo, and Brahim Diaz. Arsenal defeated Sevilla 2-0, with Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard finding the net. Bayern Munich, led by Harry Kane's brace, edged Galatasaray 2-1 at the Allianz Arena. Additionally, a Lautaro Martinez penalty guided Inter Milan to a 1-0 win against RB Salzburg.

While Manchester United faces challenges in the Champions League, other European giants demonstrated their prowess with notable victories in the group-stage matchups.
