Harmanpreet Singh-led India defeated Korea 4-1 in the semifinal of the AFC Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament in Hulunbuir, China to seal the spot in the final for the second time in a row. India will face China in the final which will be played on September 17.
India scored through Uttam Singh (13th minute), skipper Harmanpreet Singh (19th, 45th) and Jarmanpreet Singh (32nd), while Korea's lone goal came from the stick of Yang Jihun (33rd).
Earlier in the day, China defeated Pakistan 2-0 via shoot-out in the first semi-final after the two teams finished 1-1 at the end of regulation time. Meanwhile, in the fifth-sixth place classification match, Japan beat Malaysia 4-2 in the shoot-out following a 4-4 stalemate during 60 minutes.

India took the early lead
India had taken a 2-0 lead over Korea at the half-time. Goal scorers from India were Uttam Singh and captain Harmanpreet Singh. After this, Harmanpreet Singh got his name registered on the scoring sheet when Sumit passed the ball to him and he directly converted it into a goal.
However, in the third quarter, South Korea saved their honour by scoring a goal when Yang Yihoon scored with the help of a penalty corner. The Men in Blue, however, continued to attack and kept attacking the opposing team. Meanwhile, captain Harmanpreet scored the second goal and brought the score to 4-1. Harmanpreet scored this goal with the help of a penalty corner. The Indian team has not suffered a single defeat in the tournament so far. The team had earlier defeated China 3-0. After this, it defeated Japan 5-01. It beat Malaysia 8-1 and then Korea 3-1 and Pakistan 2-1. The Asian Games gold medalist team had no problem in defeating Korea in the semi-finals.
